It took me a long time to realize that Marilyn Manson was just a pop singer. Even his early stuff, which is hard rock, sure, has some very surprising pop elements to it if you pay attention.
Not that I'm necessarily a fan, but more like, "Oh, I see what you're doing there, Marilyn. How clever of you."
