Unplugged Week: Stone Temple Pilots "Interstate Love Song" (1993)

Here's the opposite of Kiss Unplugged. A thoughtful, spacious performance, making good use of the unplugged format. Of course, Kiss had already been playing for 20-something years, so maybe STP had no idea what they were doing.

Volume 145: Stone Temple Pilots "Plush" (1993)

Man, STP was a great band. They were of course susceptible to all the downfalls that have plagued rock bands for a long time, but in a way that makes them all the more "authentic," if authenticity in music can still exist. The album this song comes from is one of the great rock records of the 90s.

Not-so-little-known fact: STP originally stood for Shirley Temple's Pussy, which even I find offensive.
